✨prism prompt check-in✨
this week our focus is on the word CHILDLIKE. if you haven't had a chance to exercise the prism prompt there's still time!
have you ever considered how embracing ‘childlike qualities’ can deepen your connection with God and bring vibrant joy to your everyday life? as you ponder that question, consider qualities like innocence, trust, and wonder.
there’s such beauty and freedom that comes from approaching life with childlike innocence. in that space we’re able to let go of criticism, skepticism, and the weight of past disappointments. which then empowers us to engage relationships —with God and people—with a fresh perspective.
this often sparks the next quality mentioned: childlike trust. in healthy environments children possess an ability to just believe that they will be provided for. there are no burdens of worry about being taken care of; no concern regarding what they’ll eat, where they’ll sleep, or if they’ll have clothes to wear. additionally, thoughts of having to be perfect to warrant being cared for, or having to work for the affections and attention of their father don’t enter their little minds. everything is simply given to them; all they do is receive.
and then there’s the sense of wonder children possess. finding a tiny bug or a brand new moving box can lead to a wholehearted adventure. a child’s wonder wraps their world in living color; it touches their senses, and opens them up to endless possibilities and experiences that leave them filled with vibrant joy.
take a moment and reflect on the nature of God as a good Father. then consider what Jesus said in matthew 18:3: 'truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven'. finally, invite the Holy Spirit to show you how embracing childlike qualities can deepen your connection with the Father and lead to new, rich, discoveries of life in His kingdom—right here, right now.

In our fast-paced world, it's easy to lose touch with the simple joys of life. Embracing childlike qualities not only enhances our relationships with God but also enriches our experiences with others. When we approach life with innocence, we let go of skepticism and invite a sense of freedom that allows us to engage authentically with the world around us. Consider how children exemplify trust; they inherently believe in being cared for without questioning their needs. This trust can inspire adults to surrender their worries and cultivate deeper faith in God’s provision. Furthermore, a child's natural sense of wonder can reignite our passion for discovery. Whether it’s admiring a simple bug or embarking on new adventures, these moments remind us of the beauty in life's small details. Reflecting on Matthew 18:3, we are reminded of the importance of being childlike in our faith journey. In doing so, we open ourselves to receiving the blessings and insights God has for us, creating a pathway to joy and fulfillment in our lives.
