when was the last time you stopped to consider your worth—not based on what you do or how others see you, but simply on who God says you are? friend, you are highly esteemed! there’s so much value woven into your being that Jesus voluntarily surrendered His life to bring you back into relationship with Himself forever. while the world often bases worth on cultural trends or achievements, dignity comes solely from the Father.
although life is full of ups and downs, it’s wise to recognize that the enemy often uses the low moments to attack our sense of worth. yes, painful situations may have caused you to question your value, but here’s the truth: the Father has empowered and dignified you beyond what anyone or anything could ever strip away.
in proverbs 31 we’re reminded that dignity is something we wear—like clothing. just as an adult wouldn’t leave the house without getting dressed, spiritual maturity prompts us not to start the day without a conscious acknowledgment of the esteem and honor Jesus has given us. no matter what may have tried to steal from you yesterday, today is a new day to put on dignity—like fresh clothes—and walk in the identity secured for you by His completed work on the cross.
take a moment with Jesus and bring to Him any situation where your worth has been questioned. ask for His help to forgive those who have hurt you, and invite Him to affirm the truth of your identity. then, go to your favorite bible app and find passages that speak of who you are as a child of God. write them down and reflect on them. finally, ask Jesus to help you see those truths as “clothes” that He’s dressing you in. each time you get dressed this week, bring those verses to mind—causing lies to fall away and the reality of your worth to be affirmed. let each moment of getting dressed this week serve as a reminder—casting off lies and clothing yourself in truth—as you stand firmly in the unshakable dignity God has placed upon you.
