encouraging word of the week:✨meekness✨

✨prism prompt check-in✨

if you haven't had a chance to exercise this weekly prism prompt on MEEKNESS, there's still time!

you are powerful, and you’ve been designed to display the fruit of God’s nature in beautiful and unique ways.

for too long, “meekness” has been a highly misunderstood fruit. some have mistaken it for weakness, while others have weaponized the word to silence us as women. but in its truest sense, meekness is power under control, rooted in Christlike confidence rather than comparison.

Jesus is the perfect model of meekness. He never operated from a place of striving or insecurity, and didn’t feel the need to prove His worth. in a world obsessed with validation, He remained fully secure in His identity, trusting the Father’s timing and direction. the enemy repeatedly tempted Him to use His power outside of God’s will—whether in the wilderness (matt. 4:1-11), at the urging of others (john 7:3-6), or on the cross (matt. 27:40)—yet He refused to act from pressure or pride. through meekness, Jesus showed us that true confidence is found in surrender.

our obedience to God's direction—whether that means waiting in stillness or openly displaying our strength—is where our impact is found. the key is following Jesus' example, staying attuned to the Father's voice, and allowing Him to guide when and how we use the power He’s given us.

find a quiet place to get alone with God. ask Him to reveal the unique ways He has made you powerful, and invite Him to guide you in using that power to influence the world around you. reflect on how you’ve understood meekness in the past, taking note of any emotions or memories that arise. if needed, ask the Holy Spirit to reshape your perspective in light of Jesus’ example.

... Read moreI remember when the word 'meekness' felt like a burden, almost a synonym for being a doormat. It’s funny how a single word can carry so much misconception! This 'word of the week' truly sparked a revelation for me. Growing up, I often heard it used in ways that made me feel like I had to shrink myself, to be quiet and unassuming to fit some idea of 'godly womanhood.' But let me tell you, that couldn't be further from the truth I've come to understand. The article perfectly captures what I've learned: meekness is not weakness, but power under control. This isn't about lacking strength; it's about possessing immense inner discipline and choosing when and how to exert your influence. Think of it like a powerful, well-trained athlete. They have incredible strength, but they control it with precision and purpose, not just wild abandon. For me, this insight was transformative. It meant that my emotions, my opinions, and my gifts weren't meant to be suppressed, but to be channeled with intentionality and humility. This newfound understanding ties directly into Christlike confidence. In a world obsessed with making noise and proving worth, Jesus modeled a different path. He didn't need to shout to be heard, nor did He succumb to pressure. His identity was so secure in His Father that He could operate from a place of peace, even in the face of immense challenge. I’ve realized that when I’m rooted in who God says I am, I don't need to constantly seek validation from others. This allows me to act from a place of genuine strength, not insecurity. It's about knowing my power, but trusting God to guide its deployment. Practically speaking, how does this look in daily life? For me, it means practicing patience when I'm tempted to react impulsively to criticism, or choosing to listen deeply rather than immediately offering my own perspective. It’s about being firm in my convictions without being aggressive. I've found myself saying, 'She responded with meekness, choosing understanding over anger,' or 'His meekness allowed him to lead with quiet authority, inspiring trust.' These phrases used to sound passive to me, but now they represent profound inner strength. Another key aspect of meekness is found in surrender to the Father. This isn't giving up; it's giving over. It's trusting His timing and direction, even when my own plans seem more logical or appealing. I often find myself in quiet moments, asking God to show me how to use the power and gifts He's given me in a way that honors Him. This reflection helps me discern when to step forward boldly and when to wait patiently. It’s a constant dance of obedience and trust, and it consistently brings a deeper sense of peace and purpose than striving ever did. Embracing true meekness has truly reshaped my spiritual walk and my interactions with the world around me.
