Sarcoma Awareness Month

Sarcoma is a rare and often misunderstood group of cancers that begin in the bones and soft tissues — muscles, fat, blood vessels, nerves, and more. It can affect people of any age, but it’s especially heartbreaking that 15% of childhood cancers are sarcomas.

Because sarcoma is rare — making up just 1% of all adult cancers — it often goes undetected, misdiagnosed, or diagnosed too late. Many people have never even heard of it until it affects someone they love.

But rare doesn’t mean unimportant.

Every story matters. Every diagnosis is a life changed.

And awareness is the first step to action.

This month, we’re honoring every fighter, survivor, caregiver, and soul we’ve lost to this disease. We're standing with the sarcoma community — sharing knowledge, amplifying voices, and advocating for more research, earlier detection, and deeper support.

🎗️ Here’s how you can stand with us:

✔️ Learn the signs of sarcoma

✔️ Support organizations funding rare cancer research

✔️ Share this post and help spread awareness

✔️ Be here for those walking this road — they are not alone

Together, we’re stronger. Together, we’re HERE.#cancercommunitysupport #cancersupport #cancerawareness #sarcoma

... Read moreSarcoma is often overlooked, making up only 1% of adult cancers while representing 15% of childhood cancers. Its rarity means awareness is crucial for early detection, which significantly improves treatment outcomes. Symptoms can be vague, including swelling or pain in the affected area, which can easily be misdiagnosed or overlooked. This is why education and awareness are vital in the fight against sarcoma. By learning the signs and symptoms of sarcoma, you can help others recognize the disease early. Support organizations dedicated to sarcoma research to improve treatment prospects and ultimately save lives. Sharing informative content on social media can help raise awareness. Engaging with survivors and caregivers within the community not only provides emotional support but also helps amplify voices that are often unheard. Let’s come together this Sarcoma Awareness Month, spreading knowledge to ensure that every individual affected knows they are not alone; together, we can make a difference in the fight against sarcoma.
