📕October marked three years since my journey began with writing and selling my books! Though I didn’t always write like I do now, things change, and you change too! For a while, I did hair, which I didn’t enjoy, but the money was good. I knew I wanted a business where I could be creative, and that was my goal. I was willing to do whatever it took to figure that out.
📕I used to journal a lot when I was young, but I never thought I would be a writer. While I was doing hair, I would write poems on my phone for fun—nothing serious—but I loved it. Eventually, I stopped doing hair and set out to write a book. I had no clue what I was doing, but I found my passion. If I didn’t make money from this, I would still do it. Creating is beautiful, and I feel free doing it—whether people like it or not, I do it for myself. That mindset keeps me going.
📕I feel so much joy in this process. If it means I have to sell my books by hand, so be it. If it means I have to reprogram myself to believe that I will succeed, then nothing will stand in my way. It wasn’t until my first book was finished that I realized this was something I wanted to do long-term. When you love something, you know it’s not perfect, but you take care of it, and it grows.
Growing up, I wasn’t the greatest at keeping jobs. I hated jobs because they never cared about me. But with this business, I choose me, and I care about me.
