2024 TRAVEL AWARDS 🏆
🇬🇧 London - FRIENDLIEST PEOPLE. I was so surprised by this but people were genuinely SO nice. They helped with our luggage as we navigated the tube and were friendly on the street. It felt warm and welcoming.
🇪🇸 Spain - MOST CULTURAL. I truly felt so immersed in the culture in Spain. From tapas bars to flamenco dancers, it was INCREDIBLE.
🇳🇴 Norway - BEST NATURE. Every inch of Norway I had the privledge of seeing was absolutely gorgeous. I can’t even begin to comprehend how gorgeous the northern lights must be up in Norway. Bucketlist item for sure.
🇩🇰 Denmark - MOST EXPENSIVE. I did NOT do my research before heading to the Scandinavian countries. My Scandinavian friends told me it was expensive to live over there but being from LA, I didn’t think that could beat it but it definetely does. Next time I visit, I will be much more prepared.
🇫🇷 France - MOST TO DO. I had the most fun in France because there was SO much to see and do. From walking the streets of Paris, the museums, Disneyland, etc - I NEVER got bored.

Wow, reading about my own travel awards brings back so many amazing memories! When I think about what truly makes a trip 'exciting travel,' it's often those unexpected moments or planning for unique experiences that push you out of your comfort zone just a little bit. For instance, in Spain, beyond the incredible flamenco and tapas, imagine taking a cooking class to truly master paella, or even exploring the lesser-known white villages of Andalusia. That’s where the real cultural immersion deepens and becomes truly thrilling! Speaking of thrilling, if you're chasing that 'exciting travel' vibe, don't just stick to the main attractions. In London, while the tube navigation was an adventure in itself, I'd love to go back and explore some of the vibrant street art scenes or even catch a quirky, experimental theater show in a hidden alley. Those are the moments that make stories you'll tell for years. And Norway, with its 'BEST NATURE' award? While the Northern Lights are on my bucket list, imagine kayaking through a fjord, or even trying a glacier hike. The sheer scale of nature there is exciting enough to take your breath away. Now, about those 'yacht rides' – what a dream! While I didn't get to experience one on this trip, picturing myself cruising the Mediterranean off the coast of France or Spain definitely screams 'exciting travel.' Imagine chartering a small boat for a day from Nice or Barcelona, finding a secluded cove, and just jumping into the crystal-clear waters. It doesn't have to be a mega-yacht; even a smaller, private boat tour can elevate your trip to an entirely new level of luxury and adventure. It's all about finding those moments of pure bliss and freedom on the water. Maybe that's my next award category to explore! Denmark was indeed 'MOST EXPENSIVE,' which teaches a valuable lesson about budgeting for those exciting extras. Next time, I'd definitely research local passes for attractions or look into apartment rentals with kitchens to save on dining, freeing up funds for something truly special, like a day trip to Sweden via train, or perhaps even a scenic boat tour around Copenhagen's canals – not quite a yacht, but still an exciting way to see the city from a different perspective. My biggest takeaway for anyone wanting genuinely exciting travel is to always seek out what makes your heart race, whether it's cultural immersion, natural wonders, or even a splash of luxury on the open water. Every trip has the potential to be an award-winner for excitement if you approach it with an open mind and a spirit of adventure!
