GOLD or SILVER ? ✨
my whole entire life i only wore silver jewelry (i thought it was my preference but i realized my mom always wears silver so it was HER preference 😂).
& I always thought gold didn’t look good with my skin tone because i’m so pale. but recently i’ve been having to urge to CONVERT my all of my jewelry to GOLD i just feel like it gives esp the chunky gold hoops 🥹 but i guess it’s out of my comfort zone i can’t tell if it will look good or if i should stick with my trusty silver pieces 😬
do you guys think gold or silver would suit me better ?!
what’s your preference ? 😊

Hey everyone! I totally get where you're coming from with the gold vs. silver dilemma. For ages, I thought my pale skin automatically meant silver was my only option – just like you, I often wore classic silver pieces, maybe even a delicate heart pendant necklace, because that's what felt 'right' or what I saw around me. But guess what? It's not just about skin tone; it's all about your *skin undertone*! This little secret can totally change how gold or silver jewelry looks on you. So, how do you figure out your undertone? It's easier than you think, and there are a few simple tests you can do right at home! 1. The Vein Test: This is super popular and usually quite accurate. Look at the veins on your wrist in natural light. If they appear blue or purple, you likely have a cool undertone. Silver jewelry will probably look stunning on you, highlighting your natural radiance. If they look green, you probably have a warm undertone. Gold jewelry will truly pop against your skin, giving you a beautiful glow. If you can't really tell if they're blue or green, or if they seem to be a mix, you might have a neutral undertone. Lucky you! Both gold and silver can look fantastic on you. 2. The White vs. Off-White Test: Grab a pure white piece of clothing or paper and an off-white or cream-colored one. Hold them up to your bare face (no makeup!) in natural light. If pure white makes your skin look more vibrant and healthy, you likely have a cool undertone. If off-white or cream makes your skin look better and more radiant, you're probably a warm undertone. If both look good, you're likely neutral. 3. The Sun Test: How does your skin react to the sun? If you tend to burn easily and rarely tan, you likely have a cool undertone. If you tan easily and rarely burn, you likely have a warm undertone. Once you know your undertone, choosing between gold and silver becomes so much simpler! For cool undertones, silver, platinum, and white gold are usually your best friends. They complement the cool tones in your skin beautifully. For warm undertones, yellow gold, rose gold, and copper tones tend to be incredibly flattering, bringing out that natural warmth. If you're neutral, you have the freedom to experiment with both and see what you personally prefer, or even mix metals! I'm so excited to try these tests myself and see if my long-held belief about my "pale skin" and silver jewelry holds up. Maybe those chunky gold hoops I've been eyeing will actually be perfect for me after all! Give these tests a try and let me know what you discover about your own undertone and jewelry preferences – I'd love to hear your thoughts!

if you wanna try gold jewelry but don’t wanna commit to hefty prices, you might be able to find some cool pieces at thrift stores. i am a silver girly until the day i die and i found some really cool pieces at goodwill years ago that i still wear!
