This is one of our favourite 2-room BTO renovations for a reason 🤍

Every element was considered as part of a larger rhythm — where lighting, textures, and built-ins work together to shape how the home feels throughout the day, creating a space that feels bright, seamless, and quietly spacious.

... Read moreWhen renovating a compact 2-room BTO flat, maximizing every inch of space is crucial for comfort and functionality. One of the key strategies I’ve found effective is harnessing natural light to make the home feel larger and more inviting. For example, installing full-height windows floods rooms with soft daylight, reducing the need for artificial lighting during the day and energizing the living spaces. Another impactful design element is the use of glass partitions instead of solid walls. This maintains physical separation between areas like the bedroom and living room while allowing light to flow freely, preserving an open and airy atmosphere. It’s a clever way to ensure privacy without sacrificing the sense of space. Incorporating built-in seating near windows not only creates cozy spots for relaxation but also helps utilize what might otherwise be underused areas. These built-ins double as storage or visual anchors, contributing to a quieter sense of openness. The kitchen benefits hugely from the choice of soft whites and reflective finishes. These materials bounce light around the room, making the typically compact cooking area feel seamless and bright. Similarly, using glossy, organic green tiles in the bathroom reflects light beautifully, adding a soothing, natural vibe that softens the entire space. In my experience, the overall rhythm created by coordinating lighting, textures, and built-in elements makes a significant difference in how a small home feels throughout the day. It’s less about cramming furniture and more about thoughtful interplay between design elements, creating a balanced environment that feels both spacious and serene.
