Trying sodas around the world at Epcot! Save your time and skip this, every flavor was a 0/10!! 🤢 #epcot
Visiting Epcot with the aim of tasting sodas from different countries seemed like a fun adventure, especially since it's known for celebrating international culture—including unique culinary experiences. However, from my personal tasting journey, the sodas offered seemed to miss the mark in delivering authentic or enjoyable flavors. For example, the Korean soda labeled 'Viva Raspberry' promised a burst of fruity flavor but ended up surprisingly artificial and overly sweet without balance. Similarly, flavors inspired by the Dominican Republic’s cultural references, such as those linked to the merengue tradition—a lively music and dance style—did not translate well into beverage form. The soda's taste was far from the creamy tropical fruit notes one might expect, lacking the smoothness and complexity. This disconnect between expected cultural flavors and actual taste experience was a consistent theme. Epcot is celebrated for bringing a slice of global culture, but when it comes to international sodas, it seems the quality varies drastically. Rather than an exciting exploration, this tasting felt more like a collection of overly sugary, artificial drinks that didn't represent their countries well. From a visitor perspective, I’d recommend focusing on other authentic food and drink options at the park that truly spotlight the spirit and flavors of each represented nation. If you are a fan of international sodas or are curious about unique fizzy drinks, this experience serves as a reminder that novelty does not always equate to quality. Sometimes skipping specific attractions and saving your palate for other culinary delights can make the visit more enjoyable. Exploring Epcot’s festivals, dining experiences, and cultural showcases beyond sodas can offer richer and tastier insights into world flavors.
