... Read moreFall is finally here, and oh my goodness, it’s my absolute favorite time to make special memories with my kiddos! There’s just something magical about the crisp air, colorful leaves, and all the festive activities. If you’re looking for ways to keep your little ones entertained and embrace the season, you've come to the right place! Here are some of our go-to activities that are perfect to do with kids, making every moment count. First up, you can't have fall without a trip to the Pumpkin Patch! It's not just about picking out a pumpkin; it's the whole experience. Let your kid pick out their own pumpkin – seeing their face light up as they find 'the one' is priceless. Many patches also have corn mazes, hayrides, and petting zoos, turning it into a full day of family fun. When we go, I always encourage my little one to find a pumpkin that's just their size, which makes them feel so involved. Next, head to an Apple Orchard! This is another fantastic activity for all ages. There's something so satisfying about picking fresh apples right from the tree. We love to pick out apples for treats like homemade apple pie, apple sauce, or even just crisp apple slices with a sprinkle of cinnamon. It’s a great way to teach kids where their food comes from and get them excited about healthy snacks. Plus, the photos you get among the apple trees are always adorable! Of course, we can't forget about the classic Leaf Pile! This is hands down one of the easiest and most joyful fall activities. Gather up all those beautiful brown and orange fall leaves, make a giant pile, and then let the kids jump in! The laughter is infectious, and it's a wonderful way to burn off some energy. My kids absolutely love diving into a fresh pile of leaves, and it always puts a huge smile on my face too. Just make sure to check for any hidden sticks or rocks beforehand to keep it safe. For the smallest members of the family, how about a cute photo op? Put your baby in a Pumpkin! Find a large, hollowed-out pumpkin (make sure it's clean and comfortable inside) and gently place your little one for an adorable fall picture. It’s a tradition for us, and the photos are something we cherish every year. Just ensure they are supervised at all times and comfortable. Don’t underestimate the simple pleasure of Fall Walks. Grab your jackets and explore your neighborhood, a local park, or a nature trail. We love collecting colorful leaves, acorns, and interesting twigs. It’s a great opportunity for kids to observe nature and just enjoy the fresh air. Sometimes, the simplest activities create the best memories. Get creative by Painting pumpkins! This is a fantastic alternative to carving, especially for younger kids. You can use acrylic paints, glitter, or even stickers to decorate your pumpkins. It's less messy than carving and allows for endless creativity. We usually lay down some newspaper, put on some smocks, and let their imaginations run wild. It's a fun way to personalize your fall decor. As the evenings get cooler, nothing beats a cozy night in to Watch Fall/Halloween Movies. We love cuddling up with blankets, making some popcorn, and putting on a family-friendly film like "Hocus Pocus" or "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown." It’s the perfect way to wind down after a day of outdoor adventures and really soak in those fall vibes. And for a sweet treat, Eat Caramel Apples! Whether you buy them pre-made or make your own, there's something so decadently fall about a crisp apple covered in gooey caramel. We sometimes make a dipping station with various toppings like sprinkles or chopped nuts, which makes it even more fun for the kids. Finally, for the grand finale of fall fun, Go trick or treating! Dressing up in costumes and going door-to-door for candy is a highlight for most kids. We love seeing all the creative costumes and decorated houses. Remember to plan your route, stay safe, and have a bag ready for all those yummy treats! Seeing my little one in their Peppa Pig costume collecting candy is just precious. These activities are easy to plan and incredibly rewarding. They help us embrace the season, make lasting memories, and truly enjoy the magic of fall with our children. Happy autumn, everyone!
