Sometimes...Things we don't want to happen often come when we're not ready.

🥹 during my Chrysanthemum years, my life stumbled when I learned that my mother was suffering from stage three cancer. Although civil service welfare was very helpful, the cost of out-of-account medicine was so burdensome. I had to work with me, take care of my mother, that anyone who met said she was distressed and dilapidated. Studying at Georgetown, which was a dream to wait for, was immediately postponed.

📚 I used to stop reading TOEFL exam prep books, but instead my mother said in a strong tone:

"Take the exam, son. I'll disappear and go to your graduation."

This sentence was like a promise that ignited my mind to return to consciousness and fight my teeth. The TOEFL exam for the law field was not easy. The university wanted a score of up to 100 out of 120, and I had a limited time. My brother advised me to "Apply, don't wait for the results, or I won't be able to catch up." Yes, it was a waste of money, but I paid this price to buy a chance in life, and eventually...After applying six times in a row, the waiting score came - I succeeded.

🔋 the power of support.

During this time of challenge, I received a lot of encouragement from my brothers and sisters in the stock exchange, such as a foreign affairs adviser who was well-versed and generous, and he gave me the key idea: "Everyone faces a problem, but the brave face it."

Not only the words, he did the real thing:

• Allow me to have an English conversation with you every morning before you start.

• Please check the Statement of Purpose (SOP)

In addition, the Deputy Legal Manager helped write the Recommendation Letter, and the Dean of Jurisprudence, who was my teacher, co-wrote another edition. The brothers in the organization helped read the SOP and gave the full instructions.

And most importantly, my uncle's encouragement and financial support, I was finally accepted into LL.M. in Securities and Financial Regulation at Georgetown - despite less than half a year of preparation.

✈️ flying with anxiety.

The decision to fly to school at the time wasn't easy. I still had to heal. I was worried about my mom and I was worried about studying, but I chose to focus on the control and try to do my best.

The stress accumulated so hard that the body responded violently during my year of study that I had no periods until graduation...It's back again. Like body and life together, saying, "She's passed this test."

In the end, I really kept my promise, he recovered and stood gracefully on my graduation day, which was both a precious gift and a silent warning that life was absolutely nothing, so we had to spend time creating the full value 🎓
