🎯 Lesson 17: Target must Go Inter

I've been burying my head since I was a kid saying,

"To have a future, to be good at English."

I want to go to America.

Therefore tried to never leave English since high school

When I was in college, I was out of English in year two.

I continued with "English elective."

Fortunately, my mother is a teacher.

And my mother's foreign colleagues.

Allow me to talk to him in English every morning before going to class -

Like practicing for free every day without knowing it. 🇺🇸

English has 4 main skills - listen, speak, read, write.

Each of which I practiced differently at different stages of my life. 👇

1️⃣ Reading skills

When working first at the stock exchange

I have to study foreign law.

And then apply it to the drafting of market requirements.

Sometimes one definition requires searching from many countries.

For me, "reading" is the easiest skill.

Because they used it often and naturally recognized specialized terms.

Who wants to practice reading English today, very easy

Free e-learning is available in Thailand and abroad.

I didn't have that, so I practiced reading news from the Voice of America.

Because aiming to take the TOEFL exam

2️⃣ Writing skills

The first period has not been much used in the work.

In addition to translating documents or writing English emails,

But when preparing for the TOEFL exam,

I bought a book to practice writing every day and asked my mother to check it out.

The advantage of writing is "very practicable" -

Keep writing, and you'll start to see your development.

3️⃣ Listening skills

I was training from TOEFL and Voice of America books at the time, too.

But nowadays, I think "much easier."

Because there are various podcasts, YouTube, Netflix.

Choose to listen to what we are interested in. You can remember words and accents very quickly.

4️⃣ Speech skills - the hardest, but the most important.

Fortunately, in my school days, I used to be a "debater" and "race that."

Therefore dare to use English to speak in public

Enough to work at the stock exchange

I applied to the Toastmasters Club to practice speaking.

(Today there is still this club. Try to find it)

Before the TOEFL exam, I also hired a guava teacher to teach one-on-one.

And practice speaking to foreign department advisers of the market.

During that time, I also went on an exchange at the "Philippine Stock Exchange."

It's an experience that makes you brave to speak and use English in everyday life.

🌿 English is a "cumulative skill."

There are no shortcuts and no words too late.
