First Round of DC KO: Everyone Grab Your Weapons
The first round of DC KO is here. In this second issue Joshua Williamson, Scott Snyder, Javier Fernández, and Xermánico showcase some of our favorite heroes and villains going head to head for 16 objects to progress!
I’m kinda glad some of the brackets didn’t even up fighting…look I love everyone but the Joker here, but I was NOT ready for months of powerscaling debates. We might still be have them, but it will be with less characters. Everyone has something really interesting. It’s all so different for them. However, the action (even if covered by the comics authority) are interesting because it’s nit what you typically see. Everyone gets to go harder than they ever have before. The gods were haunting. Who are you rooting for in the upcoming rounds?

Reading through the first round of DC KO 2 really got my gears turning, especially when the article mentioned those "16 objects to progress" and seeing characters like Lex Luthor wielding a "Black Lantern Ring." It made me wonder about all the other obscure cosmic weapons and artifacts scattered across the DC universe that could completely turn the tide in a knockout competition like this! I mean, we see glimpses of incredible power, like Lex getting the "elder gods" on his side thanks to that ring. Imagine if other competitors stumbled upon equally potent, perhaps even forgotten, relics. It's not just about raw power; it’s about who can wield these artifacts effectively. For instance, while a Mother Box isn't strictly a 'weapon,' its capabilities – teleportation, life support, energy manipulation – could be game-changers in a fight. Or what about the Spear of Destiny? A magical artifact with the power to control wills and alter reality? That would make any bracket impossible to predict! Then there are the more truly cosmic items, less commonly seen than, say, a Green Lantern ring. Think about artifacts tied to the New Gods or even older, forgotten pantheons. We know the DC cosmos is vast, filled with ancient civilizations and their lost technologies. What if one of the competitors found something like the Anti-Life Equation, or a fragment of the Source Wall? Such items aren't just powerful; they're fundamentally reality-altering. Even something as seemingly simple as the Mageddon Machine, a sentient war-planet, could be considered an artifact of immense cosmic power if someone could harness it. And let's not forget the more mystical side. The Helmet of Fate, the Rock of Eternity, or even lesser-known talismans from ancient cultures could offer unparalleled advantages. The original article mentions the Joker taking out many good competitors – imagine if he got his hands on something like the Claw of Horus, granting him cosmic-level strength and flight! It would make his already chaotic presence even more terrifying. For me, the thrill of DC KO isn't just seeing heroes and villains duke it out, but imagining what hidden powers and artifacts they might uncover or utilize. It adds so much depth to the "powerscaling debates" everyone loves. What obscure cosmic artifact do you think would be the ultimate weapon in a DC KO scenario? I'm always on the hunt for those deep-cut lore pieces that could shake up the entire DC universe!

I'm so here for this! Who do you think will win the next round?
