Post trip workout 😌

First work out after coming back from a short trip! I don’t work out when travelling so that i can maximise 🧊chilling🧊 - so i start with manageable workouts when im back!

Resting my legs so this is mainly upper body! + 1 lower only

Lat pulldown

- Did the closer grip this time! Feel like this makes my range of motion more straight downwards, instead of inwards

- 24 kg x 12 x 3

Cable row

- This was w supine grip, can’t find the usual parallel one

- 19 kg x 12 x 3

Incline bench press

- Wanted to do incline as it works the chest a bit more. First time trying with the bar (instead of machine) & it was so hard to balance haha

- Bar x 6 x 3

Chest fly

- 9kg x 12 x 3

Seated iso row

- Wanted to train my arms separately as my left is a bit weaker!

- 10kg x 12 x 3

Backward lunges

- Did backwards so that it’s less taxing on my poor knees 😅

- 6kg each side x 12 x 2

That’s all ~~

... Read moreIf you're returning from a trip and easing back into workouts like I did, focusing on form and manageable weights can make all the difference. For example, I chose a closer grip on lat pulldowns to better target my back muscles with a more vertical pull. Trying out incline bench press with a free bar was challenging but rewarding, engaging my chest differently than machines do. When dealing with weaker arms, isolating muscles with exercises like the seated iso row helps balance strength. Also, for those with sensitive knees like mine, backward lunges are a great alternative since they reduce joint strain while still working your legs effectively. Don’t forget to listen to your body and adjust weights and reps accordingly. Starting light and gradually increasing ensures you rebuild strength safely post-travel. Pair your workouts with adequate rest and hydration to maximize recovery. I found mixing up grips and equipment not only keeps the routine engaging but also helps activate muscles in new ways, promoting balanced muscle growth and preventing plateaus. Remember, the key after any trip is to be patient and enjoy the process as you get back to your fitness goals.
