Having PMOS, finding a workout you’ll stick with matters. Thankfully, there are

Research shows yoga, HIIT, resistance training, and walking each offer unique benefits, such as improving insulin response, boosting testosterone, or increasing VO2max. However, these gains only matter if you stay consistent. What really helped me was focusing on three personal factors: autonomy, competence, and relatedness. I chose activities I genuinely enjoyed and felt I had control over, which helped me avoid feeling like exercise was a chore or a prescription. Progress was vital too — seeing improvements, whether in endurance or strength, kept me motivated. Connecting with others, either through group classes or online communities, created accountability and made workouts more enjoyable. For anyone with PMOS, the advice I would give is to experiment with different workouts until you find one that feels right—not just physically, but mentally and socially. It could mean combining yoga’s mindfulness with resistance training’s strength-building or taking daily walks with friends. Consistency trumps intensity or perfection; the best workout is the one you look forward to and keep doing over time.
