Move In Clean - Part 2
Do you clean the walls when you move in or is that too much? Let me know! #cleanapartment #movingorganization #movewithme #cleaning #newapartment
When I moved into my new apartment, I wondered if cleaning the walls was really worth the effort. After trying it myself, I found that wiping down walls before unpacking made a surprisingly big difference in how clean and fresh the whole space felt. Walls can harbor dust, cobwebs, and even stains left by previous tenants, so cleaning them helped me avoid allergies and created a better environment. I started with a gentle, all-purpose cleaner and a microfiber cloth to avoid damaging paint or wallpaper. For tougher spots or marks, a mild baking soda paste worked wonders without harsh chemicals. It was important to clean from top to bottom to catch any dust that might fall during the process. Taking the time to clean surfaces like door frames, light switches, and baseboards as well contributed to a thorough move-in clean. Another tip I found helpful was to clean the kitchen and bathroom areas carefully before unpacking. These spaces often require extra attention for hygiene and freshness. Cleaning counters, inside cabinets, and even inside appliances made organizing easier and reduced the stress of living in an unclean space. If you’re moving into a brand-new apartment or a recently renovated one, light wall cleaning might suffice. But for older or previously occupied spaces, don’t overlook walls—they can affect the overall cleanliness and mood of your home more than you’d expect. Personally, investing time in this step made settling in more enjoyable and gave me peace of mind. What’s your approach? Have you found wall cleaning helpful when moving in? Sharing tips and experiences can make this daunting task more manageable for everyone involved.
