Popular places to Visit in Kyoto, Japan⛩️
⛩️ Kinkakuji Temple is one of the most famous temples in Japan. Known as “The Golden Pavilion,” it’s a beautiful gold covered structure surrounded by gardens and a reflecting pond. Entry is 400 yen for adults. If you have small kids I would not recommend bringing a stroller on this walk.
⛩️ Fushimi Inari Shrine is known for its notorious 10,000 tori gates. There are souvenir, cafes, and tea shops along the way up to the top. There is no entry fee and I would recommend wearing some comfortable shoes for this hike.
⛩️ Arashiyama Bamboo Forest is next on the list! This spot is very Instagram worthy so arrive early to beat the crowds. There is no entry fee and the downtown area has plenty of shops and restaurants.
⛩️ The Scenic Sagano Romantic train lives up to its name! Towards the end the of bamboo forest path is where you will find the station for this train. It will take you on a ride through the mountains and views are absolutely beautiful. I would recommend taking this train during the fall, not only for the colors of the leaves but the weather will be much cooler. The train has no running AC so going in the summer time it can get quite hot with Japan’s humidity. Entry fees are 880 yen for adults and 440 for children.
⛩️ The Kyoto Tower is a fun activity for the day and night time. It’s an observation deck that has a 360 degree view of the city. You can come for the views but you can stay for the yummy restaurants and bars located inside the building. The entry fee is 900 Yen for adults!
