Today’s Devotional: Mother’s Day Week Edition!

When I became a mom 2/7/2013, it was the greatest day of my life! I looked at my son and thought, there’s nothing more I want to do than love and raise you. When I look at him today at his big age of 11, I still feel the same way. That is how I feel God thinks of us times infinity!

Psalm 89:1-2

I will sing of the Lord’s great love forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations.

I will declare that your love stands firm forever, that you have established your faithfulness in heaven itself.

We can never know the full capacity of love that God has for us, but I believe that he has allowed us a little glimpse through the love we carry for our children. It is really a beautiful thing to see 🥰

When I first held my son, it was an overwhelming, unconditional love that washed over me, unlike anything I had ever experienced. It was as if a tiny window opened, allowing me to glimpse the infinite, unwavering love that God has for each of us. This personal experience has truly transformed my understanding of faith and family. Reading Psalm 89:1-2, where it says, “I will sing of the Lord’s great love forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations. I will declare that your love stands firm forever, that you have established your faithfulness in heaven itself,” resonates so deeply with my journey as a mother. For me, making God’s faithfulness known through generations isn't just about teaching scripture; it’s about living out His love daily in my parenting. It's in the countless small acts of nurture, patience, and forgiveness that I hope to reflect some part of His incredible, steadfast nature. It truly feels like an act of devotion. Motherhood isn't always easy, of course. There are days filled with challenges, doubts, and exhaustion. But even in those moments, I've found God’s faithfulness to be my anchor. Just as a mother's love, when truly unconditional, stands firm through all trials, so too does God's love for us. It’s this 'FAITHFULNESS OF LOVE' that sustains us, giving us the strength to keep pouring into our children, mirroring the divine grace poured into us. I often jot down these reflections in my digital journal, finding it helps me connect with God on a deeper level. This Mother's Day, I encourage you to take a moment for personal reflection. Whether you’re a mother, a daughter, or simply celebrating the mother figures in your life, consider how 'a Mother's Love!' can be a tangible expression of God's boundless grace. Perhaps you could open a devotional book to a passage on God's love, or simply sit in quiet contemplation. Think about how the qualities of care, sacrifice, and enduring affection in a mother echo the incredible love of our Creator. It’s a beautiful way to honor both earthly and heavenly love. It’s truly a privilege to experience and witness this kind of love. It’s a love that strives to be unconditional, just like God's. This reflection is a reminder that in every hug, every word of encouragement, and every moment of unwavering support, there is an opportunity to see and share a piece of God's eternal devotion. What a powerful message for Mother's Day, isn't it? It truly makes for a meaningful devotion for Mother's Day.
