Who are you still healing from?

Growth taught me that letting people back in just because they could wasn't love....it was self-betrayal. I don't play with my peace anymore. I stand firm, I know my worth, and I decide my outcome. Fool me once... well, you know the rest 🤷🏾‍♀️ #GodsChild #HealedAndWiser

... Read moreIt's a journey, not a destination, to truly heal and protect your peace, especially when it comes to letting go of toxic relationships. I remember a time when the thought of cutting ties with toxic people felt impossible. There was a constant internal battle, a voice that said, "Maybe they'll change," or "Is it really that bad?" But deep down, I knew I was betraying my own peace by allowing certain dynamics to continue. One of the biggest breakthroughs for me was realizing what a toxic relationship actually looks like. It’s not just about fights; it’s about feeling consistently drained, disrespected, or manipulated. You might find yourself constantly justifying someone else's behavior, or walking on eggshells. For me, the moment I truly understood that cutting ties with hurtful people was a necessary act of self-love, everything started to shift. It wasn't about punishing them; it was about protecting *me*. The quote I live by now, and which truly resonated with a difficult period in my life, was about the importance of cutting ties with both hurtful people and the past self who enabled the hurt. That last part is crucial. It wasn't just about the other person; it was about confronting my own patterns, my own tendencies to prioritize others' comfort over my own well-being. This self-reflection was tough, but incredibly liberating. I had to learn to forgive that 'past self' who enabled the hurt, and then actively choose a different path. So, how do you actually start letting go of toxic relationships? It began with setting firm boundaries. This wasn't easy, and often met with resistance. But by consistently upholding my boundaries, I started to regain a sense of control over my own life. Sometimes, going no-contact was the only option, and while initially painful, it proved to be the most effective way to create distance and allow myself space to heal. Rebuilding my self-worth after these experiences was another significant part of the journey. I focused on activities that made me feel good, surrounded myself with people who genuinely uplifted me, and sought professional support when needed. It’s about rediscovering who you are outside of that toxic dynamic. Remember, you deserve peace, respect, and love. Letting go of toxic relationships isn't a sign of weakness; it's an act of profound strength and self-respect. It's choosing yourself, every single time.

Healing doesn’t always require forgiveness.
Sometimes healing looks like choosing peace over closure. Sometimes it looks like accepting the apology you’ll never receive. Sometimes it looks like loving yourself enough to walk away. You can forgive someone and still decide they no longer have access to your life. Protect your peace
