What I eat to stay fit as a college student

Staying fit while being in college can be extremely hard! Here are some of my tips on staying in shape and taking care of your body in a healthy way!

- protein is huge for giving your body what you need - I try to incorporate it whenever I can. I use protein waffles and prepare in oatmeal for breakfast before class! It’s super easy to make and a good way to get in your protein intake in the morning!

- Blueberries are my favorite fruit and they are so delicious as well as pact with vitamins and antioxidants! I usually just snack on them or add them to cereal/ oatmeal!

- bananas are also delicious and have amazing properties! Bananas are also a good snack since they are so filling and usually add peanut butter for a little sweet flavor as well as protein!

- kombucha is so good for you! Has amazing properties that’s good for digestion! Filled with live probiotics ! And detoxifies the body ! Make med feel so good inside and out!

- pumpkin seeds are great for snacking! They taste delicious and are a great form of protein.

- protein bars are my Go To! I try to eat at least 1 a day! There are so many brands and most of them are delicious I listed a few but I decided to try these I found today!

I know how crazy schedules can get, so I dedicate just an hour on Sunday to plan my meals. This doesn't mean cooking everything, but thinking about what I'll eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For example, those Kodiak protein waffles I mentioned? They’re a lifesaver on rushed mornings! I also love prepping overnight oats with a scoop of protein powder and some fresh Wish Farms blueberries for an easy grab-and-go option. For lunches, packing a simple salad with pre-cooked chicken or a sandwich on whole-grain bread saves me from expensive and often unhealthy campus food. This small effort prevents last-minute, unhealthy choices. Next, Navigating the Campus Dining Hall (if applicable) & Budget Eating. If your campus offers a dining hall, it can be both a blessing and a challenge. My strategy is to load up on veggies first, then choose lean protein, and finally add a sensible portion of carbs. It’s easy to get carried away with all-you-can-eat, but mindful eating helps immensely. For meals in my dorm, buying staples like bananas and canned tuna in bulk really cuts down costs. And for affordable, protein-rich snacks, Top Fox Snacking Pumpkin Seeds are absolutely fantastic – savory and satisfying! We often forget about it, but Hydration & Gut Health are crucial. Staying hydrated is vital for energy and focus, especially during those long study sessions. I always carry a reusable water bottle and aim to refill it multiple times a day. And speaking of feeling good, let's talk about gut health! I swear by Health-Ade Kombucha for boosting my digestion. It's not just a trendy drink; the live probiotics truly make a difference in how I feel overall. If kombucha isn’t your thing, incorporating yogurt with live cultures or other fermented foods can also be beneficial. Finally, for those mid-day hunger pangs or when I need a quick energy boost before class, Smart Snacking is key. Besides the protein bars I mentioned earlier (like the delicious Byte Bar varieties!), I always keep a small bag of nuts, an apple, or some Greek yogurt handy. These choices provide sustained energy without the sugar crash you get from processed snacks. It’s all about having healthy options readily available so you’re not tempted by vending machine junk. Remember, staying fit in college is a journey, and these little habits add up to a big difference in how you feel, both physically and mentally!
