MIL acted sick & I missed my fav singer's concert

I’m feeling so torn right now 😅. I missed my favorite singer’s concert, and my MIL acted like it was some kind of personal betrayal — she was suddenly “sick” and sulking the whole day. I get that she has her feelings, but honestly, it was a concert I’d been looking forward to for months.

Sometimes it feels like no matter what I do, there’s tension or judgment from her. I really want to have a good relationship with my MIL, but I also want to live my life and enjoy things that matter to me without feeling guilty.

Does anyone have tricks or strategies for getting along with a difficult MIL without losing yourself? How do you balance personal joy with family harmony, especially when your choices make them act dramatic? 💭

Mil or not, if I already have plans she better figure something out. I’d never understand how you see the flag and still decide to ignore it.

Sometimes a relationship with mil just won’t be there and you just have to accept it. You don’t need her approval for nothing. You are not with her, you are dating her son/daughter.
