My husband wants our newborn have a joint Bday

Need some outside perspective 😥 My baby girl is due in August, the same month as my SS's birthday.

My SS (7) already has two big parties every year—one at our house and one at his mom's. I've always been totally fine with that! But now my partner is suggesting we combine our newborn's 1st birthday party with SS's celebration to "keep things simple."

This is my first biological child, and I really want her to have her own special day. I tried explaining that it feels like her milestone is being overshadowed before she's even here, but he says I'm being dramatic and that it would be "a nice family moment."

Am I wrong for wanting my daughter to have her own celebration? SS already gets two parties, plus we do special family trips for his birthday too. Would love your thoughts 💔

No, it’s not too much. Men just don’t see it the same way we do. Just tell him that’s not what you’re going to do 🤷🏼‍♀️ This isn’t something I’d budge on, personally. My son was born 2 days before Christmas, I REFUSE to combine his birthday with any type of Christmas party or celebration. His birthday is his own day.

Definitely not wrong...a 1st bday is special like those 18ths...baby girl should have her own celebration plus girls bday party's are different than boys. her special day is face n cake not a rain on that parade. baby daddy I would think be on a spoiling streak for his girl. I get what has happened in past as far as parties nd trips for that one kids but hes not the only kid anymore when they get a little older maybe but hes got her by 6 years so SS not even gonna want that for long. Now question is how do you get along with baby mama #1. if yaw are good then basically the mother needs to have a conversation with her nd explain bc when it comes to men he couldn't twllin her one thing nd u another...she might not have a problem or skipping party for SS at ur house nd just keeping it at hers but have ur baby's party at ur house...plan it out with her separate Saturdays so everyone can make each kids party. her 1st bday shouldn't be shattered bc bd seems to have issue with talkin to bm#1. I hope this helps girl...bc this isn't right controlling ish nd he didnt go thru the pain of either child
