POV: you're overhearing me and my client mid-install 🎧
She does exactly what I tell her — nothing more, nothing less — and her hair THRIVES because of it. Less is more with K-tip maintenance… and no, I don't want you washing every other week. 😅

From my experience working with clients who wear K-tip extensions, the key to success really lies in adopting a 'less is more' attitude toward maintenance. I've noticed that clients who follow a gentle routine see their hair thrive much better than those who over-wash or over-manipulate their extensions. One important tip is to avoid washing your hair too frequently. Washing every other week or less is often ideal because it preserves the natural oils that protect both your natural hair and the extensions. Shampooing too often can cause the bonds to loosen and lead to premature shedding. When washing, I recommend using sulfate-free shampoos and conditioners specifically formulated for extensions to reduce damage and keep the hair smooth and manageable. Pair this with regular moisturizing treatments to maintain hair health and shine. Another helpful practice is to be gentle during styling to avoid tugging at the K-tip bonds. Using a wide-tooth comb and avoiding excessive heat can extend the life of your extensions and protect your natural hair. Clients who adhere strictly to these habits have reported longer-lasting extensions and healthier scalp conditions. Overhearing real client conversations in my chair has convinced me that simplicity and consistency in K-tip maintenance are the best strategies to achieve beautiful, thriving hair.
