desert photo diary: that time when sedona widened my third eye

pt 2 of alchemizing my lore into art :) i just posted the full spread on my instagram @ therealzxia x astronautbarbiegirl

i think there’s something really beautiful about realizing the things that happened to you don’t have to stay painful forever. eventually they can become stories, jokes, art, wisdom, or just proof that you’re resilient enough to live through it.

making this zine reminded me creation can feel like play & it’s never too serious to express yourself on social media in a way that feels like reclamation. i get to take all the memories i can’t change and decide what they get to mean now.

turns out my favorite form of healing might just be making something beautiful out of everything that tried to make me bitter 🦋

still hiding little subliminals throughout every page. tell me what you catch xx

... Read moreVisiting Sedona is often described as a deeply spiritual experience, known for its stunning red rock formations and energy vortices believed to facilitate healing and insight. In my own journey, I found Sedona did more than soothe my mind — it helped me widen my third eye, a metaphor for developing higher awareness and creative consciousness. What this means practically is learning to transform past pain into art and stories that empower rather than haunt. When I created my zine, it wasn’t just about documenting memories; it was about reclaiming my narrative. I realized that creativity doesn't have to be serious or stressful; it can be playful and liberating. This playful creation process became my favorite form of healing — turning bitterness into beauty. The act of hiding subliminals throughout my zine pages invites others to engage, to find hidden meanings and connections, echoing how healing is also a process of discovery. The journey through Sedona's landscapes mirrors this internal alchemy: nature helps cultivate emotional resilience through raw experiences, like the 'gate of crisis' mentioned at Coconino National Forest, which they say can deepen awareness through emotional suffering. For those looking to nurture their own creative consciousness or embrace vulnerability, Sedona offers an inspiring backdrop. It encourages us to see ourselves as co-creators of our reality, using all three eyes — intuition, experience, and insight — to navigate life. This mindset can be a powerful tool for anyone healing, growing, or expressing themselves, especially in the digital age where social media can be reclaimed as a space for genuine artistic expression. If you’re considering a trip to Sedona or embarking on a creative project born from your own stories, remember that healing is a process. It’s about transforming what tried to make you bitter into something beautiful and resilient. Embrace the process, stay open to signs from the universe, and allow yourself to create without fear — your art could be the light you and others need.
