Your standards decide your life
Standards aren’t about being difficult.
They’re about being honest with yourself about what you will and won’t accept.
What you tolerate becomes your reality.

From personal experience, embracing and enforcing my own standards was a turning point in truly valuing myself. Initially, it was challenging to refuse situations that didn’t align with my values because I feared loneliness or rejection. But as I adopted the mindset that "what you tolerate becomes your reality," I realized that low standards often mask harmful thoughts like "maybe they'll change" or "it's not that bad." On the other hand, having high standards, such as expecting consistency and recognizing when something "doesn't feel right," helped me filter out relationships and opportunities that drained my energy or compromised my integrity. It was not about being difficult but about being honest with myself. Setting clear boundaries brought a sense of peace and self-love I hadn’t experienced before. Over time, this shift in standards transformed my life outlook and personal growth. The loneliness that comes with high standards is temporary and leads to greater healing and a stronger growth mindset. Standards don’t push away the right people; they help you attract the ones who truly align with your value system. This approach has been instrumental in cultivating healthier connections, boosting self-worth, and living a more fulfilling life.

That really shapes everything because what you accept sets the tone for your life. Raising your standards naturally changes what you allow and what you experience.
