It's seriously so exciting to hear rumors (and now confirmation!) that a Danganronpa 2 remaster might be on the horizon! As a huge fan, I’ve been replaying the series, and it got me thinking about what I really hope they change – and keep – in the new version. First off, let’s talk about the *executions*. The OCR mentioned how Danganronpa 2's executions were 'just not it,' and honestly, I couldn't agree more. Compared to the sheer shock and creativity of V3's, which started off with a bang with Kaede's execution, DR2 sometimes felt a bit… underwhelming. I mean, Mikan's execution? That had to be the lamest I've ever seen! It felt less like a grand, despair-inducing spectacle and more like a bizarre, almost silly sequence. If they're making a remaster, fixing those wacky executions should definitely be high on the list. Imagine them revamping them with modern graphics and even more twisted, personalized despair! But it’s not all negatives for Danganronpa 2. The OCR also highlighted how 'really great with the characters' the game is, and absolutely! The interpersonal relationships between the characters are incredibly strong and believable. You genuinely feel connected to them, even with all their quirks. We know the characters, and they know each other, making their bonds feel authentic. Speaking of characters, I'm crossing my fingers that they don't mess with the core cast too much. The OCR brought up Peko Pekoyama and the guy who keeps getting ragebaited – Fuyuhiko, right? Their dynamic is iconic, and their story arc is one of the most compelling in the series. And Ibuki needs to survive! Her death felt so unnecessary, and she was genuinely one of the kindest characters, especially to Mikan. I loved her energy, and her interactions were always a highlight. I really hope they keep the integrity of these characters and their narratives, even if my memory is super rusty on some of the details. Beyond executions and character integrity, a remaster could also bring some much-needed quality-of-life improvements. Think about smoother gameplay, a more intuitive UI, or even some bonus content that fleshes out the lore. Maybe even some new cutscenes or dialogue options! The foundation for the series is already solid, so any enhancements would just be icing on the cake. And let's be real, with a remaster, the cosplays are about to go crazy! The Danganronpa community is so creative, and new official art or character models could inspire even more amazing creations. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for Danganronpa 2 and what changes they bring to this beloved game!
