Why I Stopped Doing Sunday Resets
For a long time, I thought Sundays had to be productive to be “successful.”
I spent every Sunday trying to:
– clean the whole house
– prep everything perfectly
– organize the entire week
– “catch up” on life
And honestly?
Instead of helping me feel prepared… it made Sundays feel heavy.
I would end the weekend already exhausted before Monday even started.
At some point, I realized I was spending my one slow day trying to fix everything at once.
So I stopped doing intense Sunday resets.
Not because I stopped caring about my home…
but because I wanted my home to feel peaceful too.
Now my Sundays look different.
I still do small things that help the week run smoother:
– a gentle kitchen reset
– washing a load of laundry
– meal prepping something simple
– writing down the week ahead
But I also rest.
I sit down.
I slow down.
I let the house be lived in sometimes.
And surprisingly?
My home started feeling calmer when I stopped carrying so much pressure.
Because motherhood already asks so much from us.
Our homes do not need perfection on top of it.
That’s the heart behind everything I share at The Simplest Nest — simple systems, calm-home rhythms, and realistic motherhood support that actually fits real life.
If you’ve been spending Sundays trying to “fix” your whole life…
This is your reminder that rest is productive too 🤍
