I really love this skincare routine! I have been following it for about a year now, and the results have been great. Before, I used to over-exfoliate my skin, but now I only exfoliate once or twice a week. My primary goal has been to heal and repair my skin barrier. 🤍

My journey to happy skin wasn't always smooth sailing. I used to think more was better, leading to irritation and sensitivity. But discovering the power of affordable K-beauty and barrier-focused products, many similar to what you'd find from brands like COSRX, has been a game-changer! When I first started, understanding the role of each product felt overwhelming. But breaking it down helped so much. For instance, a gentle foaming cleanser isn't just about getting rid of makeup and impurities; it's about doing it without stripping your skin. Finding one that cleanses effectively while respecting your skin's natural moisture barrier, especially if you have normal to oily skin, is super important. It sets the stage for everything else. Then came toners, and this is where I really leaned into K-beauty influences. I explored a propolis synergy toner for its elasticity-boosting and moisture-retaining properties – it felt like a hug for my skin! And a rice toner? That one was incredible for providing deep moisturization and forming a protective barrier to prevent water loss. These ingredients are often celebrated for their soothing and strengthening benefits, helping to calm irritated skin and fortify its defenses. Serums were next, and I looked for targeted solutions. For those pesky dark spots and hyperpigmentation, a brightening serum with ingredients like vitamin C or niacinamide became a staple. And for days when my skin needed that extra boost of radiance and hydration, a glow serum was perfect, often helping with enlarged pores and managing sebum production. The key is finding one that addresses your specific concerns without overwhelming your skin. My eye area also needed some love. An advanced snail peptide eye cream was a revelation for brightening, tightening, and diminishing dark circles and fine lines. The peptides and snail mucin are known for their regenerative properties, making a noticeable difference over time. Then there's retinol, which I introduced carefully using the sandwich method. For me, adapalene gel has been fantastic for preventing blackheads, whiteheads, and blemishes, while also working to restore skin texture and clear acne. Using the sandwich method (moisturizer, then adapalene, then more moisturizer) helped minimize irritation while still getting the benefits. It's a powerful ingredient, so gentle introduction is key. And finally, moisturizer – the ultimate barrier protector! I rotate between a few favorites. A double repair face moisturizer is amazing for truly repairing the skin's natural barrier and providing immediate comfort, especially after using active ingredients. But for a more luxurious feel and a beautiful, subtle glow without feeling heavy, a rich dynasty cream became my go-to. It’s all about locking in that hydration and supporting your skin's natural functions. This entire routine has truly helped me achieve that healthy, clear skin I always dreamed of, proving you don't need to spend a fortune to get great results!
