The Duality of Being Human!

A lot of us were taught that being “strong in faith”

meant suppressing anything that looked like weakness.

But the truth is…

You can be full of faith

and still feel overwhelmed.

You can love God deeply

and still be in process.

That tension you feel?

That’s not failure.

That’s the reality of being human.

And God meets you right there.

Living with the duality of being human is truly a unique journey. I’ve personally found that faith doesn’t mean perfection but embracing our complexities without shame. It’s completely natural to feel strong in faith while still experiencing fear or doubt at times. One key insight that helped me grow was understanding that God invites us to bring our whole human experience to Him—not to hide our struggles or suppress our emotions. In my experience, healing happens when we stop trying to be 'perfectly strong' and instead allow ourselves to be real, vulnerable, and open to support. For example, even when I pray and trust God, there are moments when fears or painful memories arise. But recognizing that such tension is not failure, but part of being human, has been liberating. It’s comforting to remember that God meets us exactly where we are, in all our brokenness and growth. Additionally, forgiving doesn’t mean forgetting every hurt; it means learning to carry those memories differently without bitterness. Trusting God amid questions is also a sign of mature faith rather than weakness. This balance is what I call holding both—our faith and our humanity—without losing ourselves. This perspective has helped me build emotional health alongside spiritual healing. It’s okay to ask for support and lean on community. Life with faith is a process, not an instant transformation. Embracing this duality allows us to experience a deeper peace, knowing God never asked us to stop being human, but to bring all of our humanity to Him.
