THINGS I DONT 👀 next school year
As a senior heading into the next school year, I’ve come to realize there are certain things I just don’t want to deal with anymore. From personal experience, senior year can be a rollercoaster of excitement mixed with stress, and there are key moments and habits I’m definitely hoping to avoid this time around. One major thing I don’t want to see is the feeling of being overwhelmed by endless assignments right off the bat. Senior year is already packed with college applications, extracurricular responsibilities, and important final projects. To keep my sanity, establishing a smooth morning routine (GRWM routine) helps me start the day calm and focused. I’ve learned that waking up just a bit earlier to prepare mentally and physically really sets a positive tone for a hectic school day. Another thing I want to avoid is skipping social connection moments. Senior year is about making lasting memories, but balancing friends and study time is tricky. I find it helpful to schedule small breaks to catch up with friends instead of letting social interactions slide. It keeps the year enjoyable and less stressful. Lastly, I definitely don’t want to encounter the typical senior-year drama or distractions that can sidetrack you from what's truly important. Staying clear of unnecessary conflicts and focusing on future goals like graduation and college prep is crucial. Overall, sharing these thoughts reminds me and others that senior year is unique. It comes with its ups and downs, but by being mindful of what we want to avoid, we can make the year fulfilling. If you’re a senior or approaching your last school year, consider what things you don’t want to face, and create your own plan to handle the challenges smartly. It’s all part of embracing this exciting transition stage in life!
