Prepare to open Trump tax response One Stop Service center
Commerce Minister Jatuporn Menswat revealed the response measures after the United States announced a 19% hike in tariffs on imports of goods from Thailand, stating that the Ministry is preparing to open a One Stop Service on August 7 at the Export Center on Ratchaprasong Road to consult and support entrepreneurs affected by the measures.
The Centre integrates working with relevant agencies such as banks and business support organizations to provide one-stop services in information, guidance and adaptive approaches.
According to Jatuporn, the impact of the tax hike must be considered as a product item. The Ministry will conduct an in-depth analysis to assess the impact. At the same time, Thailand will accelerate the opening of new markets and drive FTA negotiations with additional trading partners to create new trade opportunities. It has instructed commercial ambassadors to accelerate negotiations.
"The most important thing is entrepreneurial adaptation, because today's global trade situation is not just about US tariffs, but also about geopolitical factors, climate change and environmental measures such as the EU's CBAM," said Jatuporn.
