China opens K visa, pulls new generation of science-tech
The Chinese government is preparing to launch a new class of "K visa" visas for new generation of science and technology personnel from abroad, with effect from October 1, according to a cabinet order signed by Prime Minister Li Qiang.
The K visa is designed to facilitate holders in terms of the number of times they can enter and leave the country, the length of their stay, and the flexibility to participate in educational, cultural, business and innovative activities without the need for an agency in China to issue an invitation.
The launch of the new visa category is part of China's new era HR development strategy, reflecting its commitment to attracting talent from around the world amid a trend of continued relaxation of visa rules, such as the completion of visa exemption agreements with 75 countries in July to promote international cooperation in the economic, educational and technological fields.
According to the National Immigration Service, in the first half of 2025, more than 38 million foreigners entered and left China, an increase of more than 30% compared to the previous year, of which more than 13 million were visa-free.
วีซ่า K เป็นเครื่องมือสำคัญที่จีนใช้ในการเสริมสร้างความสามารถทางวิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยีในประเทศ ด้วยการออกแบบวีซ่าชนิดนี้เพื่อเพิ่มความสะดวกให้กับนักวิจัยและผู้เชี่ยวชาญจากต่างประเทศ วีซ่า K ช่วยให้ผู้ถือสามารถเดินทางเข้าออกจีนได้หลายครั้ง มีระยะเวลาพำนักนานขึ้น และสามารถเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมหลากหลายทั้งด้านการศึกษา วัฒนธรรม ธุรกิจ และนวัตกรรมโดยไม่ต้องขอหนังสือเชิญจากหน่วยงานของจีน ซึ่งลดขั้นตอนและความยุ่งยากในการขอวีซ่าอย่างมาก นอกจากนี้ การเปิดตัววีซ่า K ยังเป็นการประกาศเจตนารมณ์ของรัฐบาลจีนในการพัฒนาทรัพยากรบุคคลอย่างยั่งยืนและทันสมัย เพื่อรองรับยุทธศาสตร์ประเทศในด้านเทคโนโลยีระดับสูง โดยจีนมีแนวโน้มผ่อนคลายกฎระเบียบวีซ่ามากขึ้น เช่น การทำข้อตกลงยกเว้นวีซ่าร่วมกับ 75 ประเทศ และเพิ่มจำนวนชาวต่างชาติที่เดินทางเข้าออกประเทศอย่างต่อเนื่อง ทั้งนี้ในครึ่งปีแรกของปี 2025 ชาวต่างชาติเข้า-ออกจีนกว่า 38 ล้านครั้ง ซึ่งเป็นสัญญาณชี้ให้เห็นว่าจีนพร้อมเปิดประตูสู่ความร่วมมือในระดับนานาชาติอย่างจริงจัง จากข้อมูลนี้ วีซ่า K จึงนับเป็นเครื่องมือที่มีประสิทธิภาพในการดึงดูดบุคลากรที่มีความรู้และความสามารถสูงในสาขาวิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยีเข้ามาช่วยพัฒนานวัตกรรมและเศรษฐกิจยุคใหม่ของจีน รวมถึงยังช่วยส่งเสริมเครือข่ายความร่วมมือระหว่างประเทศด้านเทคโนโลยีและการศึกษา ซึ่งเป็นปัจจัยสำคัญที่ช่วยขับเคลื่อนการพัฒนาประเทศอย่างยั่งยืนในอนาคต
