JK Rowling Held Heavy Emma Watson
JK Rowling, the creator of the magical world of "Harry Potter" that dominates readers around the world, posted a vehement response to Emma Watson; behind the 35-year-old actress giving an interview via podcast saying she still "loves and appreciates" Rowling, despite once coming out to express her stance against the author's views on transgender issues as of 2020.
Rowling criticised Watson as "a man who is unaware of himself knowing nothing," comparing his life of having faced hardship to a life full of actress fame and wealth, saying, "I wasn't a millionaire at 14. I wrote a book that made Emma famous while living a hard life. So I understand how the deprivation of women's rights, which Emma enthusiastically participates in, affects women and girls who don't have her kind of prerogatives."
In addition, Rowling said of Watson's recent interview, "The most controversial thing is, if Emma doesn't come out to the latest interview that she loves and appreciates me (which I suspect she's changed her stance on because it's starting to see that condemning me in full voice is not as trendy as before)."
She further stated that "adults should not expect to be able to associate with a movement that calls for the assassination of a friend and then resume the claim of love from that person, as if he were his own mother."
Rowling also stressed that Watson has the right to express her feelings in the public sphere, and herself has the right as well, saying, "Emma has the full right to disagree with me, and to speak of her feelings to me in public - but I have the same right, and now I've decided to exercise that right."
Rowling has previously made clear that she would never forgive Emma Watson, including Harry Potter co-star Daniel Radcliffe, for coming out criticizing her, which she stated during that time led to her being intimidated to the point of "threatening to kill, rape and torture."
