Hamas-Israel Answers President Donald Trump's Ceasefire Proposal
On October 4, the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that "Israel is ready to take the first step of the Trump proposal immediately, to release all hostages," with confirmation that it will cooperate fully with the United States in ending the war.
Earlier on October 3, Hamas issued a statement accepting the ceasefire proposal and expressing its readiness to discuss in more detail, a deadline set by Trump after announcing the proposal along with Netanyahu on September 29, with the latter receiving a response from Hamas; Trump called on Israel to immediately stop airstrikes on the Gaza Strip in order to make way for safe rescue of the hostages; meanwhile, negotiating countries like Qatar and Egypt began to take the necessary steps.
The Trump version of the ceasefire proposal stipulates an immediate cessation of hostilities and the release of all hostages within 72 hours, including the return of casualties, with an end to the forced evacuation of Palestinian citizens from the area.
