White House criticizes awarding of Nobel Peace Prize
The White House issued a heated statement criticizing the Nobel Committee after it announced the award of the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize to Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machodo, instead of President Donald Trump, who had taken a clear stance that he deserved the award for his efforts to push a ceasefire agreement on the world stage.

The award ceremony will be held on December 10, coinciding with the anniversary of the death of Alfred Nobel, the founding Swedish industrialist of the Nobel Prize.
