Perish decomposed! Advanced chip market share in China
JENZEN Huang, CEO of the world's major chipmaker NVIDIA, again criticized U.S. chip export control measures to China, stating that sanctions like these would backfire to hurt the U.S. itself, while revealing that NVIDIA could no longer sell advanced chips to China, resulting in a drop in market share in China from 95% to zero.
Since 2022, the U.S. has banned the export of advanced AI chips such as the A100, H100 and H200 to China. Despite NVIDIA's permission to sell the H20 chips, which are underperforming, they have been subjected to security scrutiny by Chinese authorities, and the Chinese government reportedly advised domestic companies to avoid using NVIDIA's products.
