Today, it is clear that the work of the new 1st Chief, Lieutenant General Woryse Sawan, does not talk much, but the real, fast, violent, and fast-paced operation is over.
After the case of the Burpa Force, the 1st Army Division, Operation Active Wai recaptured the Kaew-Nongjan House from Cambodia with the Cambodian flag removed and the Thai flag raised to the top of the pole again.
Previously, in the last four or five months, the First Army has been criticized for decades of neglect, causing Cambodia to overrun and encroach on Thai borders. There are rumours that some businessmen, politicians and soldiers share interests with the Cambodian casino business so that they do not dare to operate.
But when the first division was replaced on Oct. 1, 2025, Lieutenant General Vreis stepped up to take up his new position with the style of "not talking, but clear in all actions." From the first day of his inauguration, he immediately announced that the border was closed, that there was no relief for anyone's benefit, and that the army was always ready to fight.
A few days later, it announced that Thailand would not attend the RBC meeting in Cambodia, but issued an ultimatum for Cambodia to evacuate villages encroaching on Thai territory by Oct. 7, 2025.
Most recently, during the clashes along the South Isan border in the area of the 2nd Army, the Thais were suddenly surprised by the news that the 1st Army had "lightning operations" advancing on the entire border of the Kaew Pool, clearing landmines and sending tanks down Cambodian casinos before sending soldiers to take over the area, removing the Khmer flag and hoisting the Thai flag again after decades of occupation.
Reflecting the work of the current 1st Chief of the Army, who is not very talkative, but real, violent and decisive, because the soldiers are not talkers, but "warriors," and the duty of the soldiers is to fight to protect national sovereignty!!
การปฏิบัติการฟ้าผ่าของแม่ทัพภาคที่ 1 พลโท วรยส เหลืองสุวรรณ แสดงให้เห็นถึงความเด็ดขาดและรวดเร็วในการจัดการปัญหาเขตแดนที่ถูกละเลยมานานหลายสิบปี การเข้ายึดคืนพื้นที่บ้านหนองหญ้าแก้ว–หนองจาน ไม่เพียงแต่เป็นการรักษาอธิปไตยของประเทศไทย แต่ยังเป็นการส่งสัญญาณชัดเจนไปยังฝ่ายที่ละเมิดอธิปไตยว่าไทยพร้อมและไม่ยอมให้มีการบุกรุก ใด ๆ บนแผ่นดินของเรา ในช่วงปี 2568 ที่ผ่านมา การปลดธงชาติกัมพูชาและชักธงชาติไทยบนพื้นที่ดังกล่าว นับเป็นความสำเร็จที่หลายฝ่ายรอคอย ซึ่งสะท้อนภาพลักษณ์ของกองทัพภาคที่ 1 ภายใต้การนำของแม่ทัพ วรยส ที่เน้นการปฏิบัติอย่างรวดเร็วและเด็ดขาด ไม่ยอมให้มีการละเลยหรือผลประโยชน์ทับซ้อนจากกลุ่มนักธุรกิจและการเมืองที่อาจทำให้เกิดความไม่ยุติธรรม ปฏิบัติการในลักษณะนี้ยังช่วยเสริมสร้างความเชื่อมั่นของประชาชนและกำลังพลในกองทัพที่ได้เห็นถึงความเข้มแข็งและความตั้งใจจริงในการปกป้องชายแดนประเทศ อีกทั้งยังเป็นการส่งเสริมความมั่นคงในระดับภูมิภาค โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งเมื่อไทยแสดงท่าทีไม่ร่วมประชุม RBC ที่กัมพูชาซึ่งสะท้อนถึงการตั้งลักษณะจุดยืนอย่างแข็งกร้าวในประเด็นที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการละเมิดเขตแดน นอกจากนี้ การเคลียร์ทุ่นระเบิดและส่งรถถังเข้าถล่มตึกคาสิโนกัมพูชาจนราบคาบ ยังเน้นย้ำถึงความสามารถและความพร้อมของกองทัพภาคที่ 1 ในการปฏิบัติการทางทหารอย่างเต็มรูปแบบ และปฏิบัติการนี้ยังเป็นการป้องกันการใช้พื้นที่เพื่อกิจกรรมที่อาจก่อให้เกิดอันตรายต่อความมั่นคงของประเทศ โดยสรุป สไตล์ “ไม่พูดมาก แต่ทำจริง” ของแม่ทัพปัจจุบัน สอดคล้องกับภาพลักษณ์ของทหารในฐานะนักรบที่หน้าที่หลักคือการปกป้องอธิปไตยและรักษาความปลอดภัยของชาติในทุกสถานการณ์ ทำให้ประชาชนและประเทศได้ความมั่นใจอย่างมากว่าแนวชายแดนของไทยจะยังคงแข็งแกร่งและปลอดภัยเสมอ
