SURABAYA - MALANG TRIP!

6/20 Edited to

... Read moreDuring my recent trip to Surabaya and Malang, I was captivated by the rich history and vibrant culture these cities offer. One of the standout experiences was visiting the Monumen Kapal Selam (Submarine Monument) in Surabaya, which was officially inaugurated on June 27, 1998. The monument not only commemorates the Indonesian Navy's legacy but also offers a unique glimpse into naval history with exhibits like the PASOPAT 410 and detailed sections on R. Torpedo Haluin. Another memorable stop was the Makam Sunan Ampel, a historical site housing the tomb of R. Ahmad Rahmatullah, an important figure in the spread of Islam in the region. Visitors are advised that women should wear headscarves when entering, and the use of megaphones or loudspeakers is prohibited to maintain the site's tranquility. Photography restrictions are also in place to respect visitors and worshippers. The cities are well-connected through Juanda International Airport, making travel convenient. Throughout the journey, I appreciated the guidance from local driver guides who enhanced the experience with insightful stories and navigational ease. For anyone planning a trip to Surabaya and Malang, I recommend allocating time to explore these cultural landmarks alongside enjoying local cuisine and shopping. The blend of historical significance and modern amenities makes these cities an enriching destination for any traveler.
