5 things ✨
here’s a round up of what i was into this week!
🍂what i did:
my little town does a monthly event in the summer and fall, called third thursday. they shut down the street and all the restaurants set up tables in the main street together. the whole town comes out for dinner outside, there’s music and its just generally a lovely event.
I also wrote my latest post on leather jackets for fall, check it out in my link in bio.
📚what i read:
a soul to keep, by opal reyne
this book has been on my list for a while and i finally decided to pick it up. it’s a monster romance and definitely not for the faint of heart 😅 but if you’re into romance and specifically fantasy/monster romance, this book was actually cute. Its a very loose retelling of beauty and the beast, but with demons and duskwalkers. this is also the first of the series - i absolutely love when i can dive into a world and move right on to the next book!
🍝what i ate:
i went feral at trader joe’s last week and grabbed as much pumpkin and fall themed things as i could! this week, i made pasta with their ‘autumnal harvest’ pasta sauce, which is a tomato based sauce with pumpkin and squash. it was so good with little meatballs.
i also grabbed cinnamon rolls and the pumpkin joe joes - i always tell myself i want to make cinnamon rolls but never get around to it, the prepared ones were great in the morning with coffee. i liked the pumpkin joe joes, but they are a little sweet.
📺what i watched:
while fall is the season to rewatch gilmore girls, i also usually rewatch the vampire diaries as well. i still love it, even though the later seasons get a little *questionable.* its just the perfect mix of supernatural creatures, steam, and drama. now that i’ve rewatched the show a few times, i tend to stick to the first 4 or 5 seasons before the storyline gets a little hairy. I also actually really liked the spin off ‘the originals’ too, because its extra witchy and takes place in new orleans.
🎧what i listened to:
this week i’ve really been focused on podcasts and audiobooks - it just depends on my mood. i love Drew Afualo, and i went back to some of her older episodes that i hadn’t listened to. this was a great conversation with Rainn Wilson.
the music i did end up listening to randomly this week were 80’s ballads… not quite sure what got me in the mood for that, but sometimes you just feel nostalgic. i swear they don’t make music like this any more!
