And ALL Other Streaming Services👀

It’s been over a year since I unsubscribed from all my streaming services…

I was done spending so much valuable time binge watching content that ultimately didn’t add any value to my life🙃 So I set out to unplug from our modern worlds various sources of artificial stimulation in hopes to regain a love for the simple joys of life outside of a screen 💻🌳 — Let’s just say, I feel like a new person☀️

I replaced my old habits of doom scrolling, compulsive content creation, and binge watching for:

• Reading 📚

• Painting 🖼️

• Cooking 🥘

• Family Time ❤️

(And More!)

My mind feels so much clearer after cutting out the unnecessary distractions. In our crazy world, who wouldn’t want life to feel more simple?🫶 I dare you to try it out for yourself!

But honestly, for me, it wasn't about deprivation; it was about reclaiming my time and mind. The allure of endless episodes is powerful, I get it. It’s so easy to fall into the trap of 'just one more episode,' only to look up and realize hours have vanished, leaving me feeling more drained than refreshed. My journey away from constant streaming wasn't a sudden leap, but a gradual realization that my passive consumption wasn't adding real value to my life. I think a lot about what 'Why I Deleted Netflix' really means for me. It's not just about canceling a subscription; it's about making a conscious choice for a more engaged, present life. Instead of mindlessly scrolling through options, I started actively seeking out experiences. This is where the 'Lemon8 lifestyle' really shines for me. While Netflix offers incredible stories, Lemon8 often inspires me to create my own, whether it's through trying a new recipe, picking up a paintbrush, or planning a fun family outing. If you're feeling that same pull, wondering if there's more to life than the latest binge-watch, I truly encourage you to explore it. One practical step I found helpful was to identify my 'trigger' times for streaming. Was it after work? Before bed? During meals? Then, I intentionally filled those slots with something else. For instance, instead of tuning into a show while cooking, I'd put on a podcast or even just enjoy the quiet. Instead of scrolling before bed, I picked up a book – a physical one! The difference in my sleep quality alone was remarkable. Another game-changer was actively rediscovering hobbies. Remember those things you loved to do as a kid, before screens took over? For me, it was painting. For you, it might be gardening, learning an instrument, or exploring local parks. Lemon8 is full of ideas and inspiration for these kinds of activities, making it a wonderful resource to spark new passions. It’s about shifting from being a spectator to being a participant in your own life. The mental clarity I've gained is truly priceless. Without the constant influx of content, my brain feels less cluttered, more focused, and surprisingly, more creative. My relationships with family and friends have deepened because we're spending quality time together, making memories, instead of just co-existing while glued to separate screens. It’s not about never watching anything again, but about choosing consciously. Giving yourself permission to unplug from the endless entertainment cycle can open up a whole new world of simple joys and genuine fulfillment. Trust me, your future self will thank you!
