💵 my “no buy” spending list for q1 of 2025 💵

After purchasing my first home, I decided I need to cut down on my personal spending and start focusing more on saving.

1. Cups: I absolutely love cups (as seen on my previous posts) however I have neither the space nor the need for a billion cups…no matter how cute they are. I have two super cute and useable cups that work perfectly.

2. Blankets: I don’t know why but I’m a blanket person. I love the soft comfy feeling of them and I buy them without needing them. I have to remind myself I have enough blankets to keep warm in the winter and that’s all I need.

3. Mugs: I’m a sucker for cute, adorable mugs. I’m going to stick with a set of 4 mugs (I’m a single person household) and wash them as I need to.

Follow along as I post more about my no buying for 2025!

... Read moreIn today's consumer-driven world, the concept of a 'no buy' challenge is increasingly appealing. It's not just about cutting spending; it's a deliberate approach to living more intentionally. To truly embrace this lifestyle, consider the following strategies: First, assess your needs versus wants. Before purchasing, ask yourself if the item will genuinely enhance your life or if it’s just another fleeting desire. For instance, while cute cups and mugs can be tempting, evaluate how many you truly need. Keeping a minimal collection can also help reduce clutter. Secondly, focus on what you already own. Oftentimes, people overlook the valuables they possess that can serve multiple functions. Instead of buying more blankets, utilize the ones you have by rotating them seasonally or finding creative ways to repurpose them in your home. Joining communities or online platforms that advocate for minimalism or no-buy challenges can also provide motivation and accountability. Sharing your journey through platforms like Lemon8 can inspire others while strengthening your commitment. Lastly, celebrate your victories, however small. Recognizing progress, like resisting the urge to buy unnecessary items, can make the journey enjoyable and fulfilling. With a mindful approach and a focus on what enriches your life, you can thrive in your no-buy challenge!

That’s a great idea and think how much more money you save for that adventure vacation you and your girlfriends have been planning since you were in college or high school
