Nursing school UPDATE
let me tell YOU something .. life has been lifeing so here is a update: i took the Teas like i was supposed to do unfortunately i didn’t score high enough for what my program wanted me to in order to be considered i was 5 points off i originally planned to take it twice anyway and my proctor informed that i could take it again before my deadline , so i arranged to do that! between that time i got sick for the SECOND TIME this month, this time no one (not even doctors knew what it was) i had a mass or infection in my throat that seemed to grow over night it was horrible ! i’m feeling a little better though i’m on a bunch of medicine and i just got off the other medicine i had to take for my other sickness the last time i complained the whole way through and i guess GOD said it definitely could be worse ! and oh did i mention my daughter fell sick too. but i’m not complaining this time around because i learned it can always be worse. i’m currently studying with whatever materials (i have the ATI teas book) 📖 i can find. and that’s my little spill for today no one ever said becoming a nurse would be easy because if it was everyone would be doing it! i don’t care what it takes i will have RN by my name !
It's easy to feel defeated when things don't go as planned in nursing school, believe me, I know! When I found out I was just 5 points shy on my TEAS exam, and then got hit with back-to-back illnesses, it felt like the universe was testing my resolve. But you know what? That 'RN by my name' dream isn't going anywhere. This journey has taught me so much about resilience, and I wanted to share some of the ways I'm keeping my motivation high, especially when it feels like I'm stuck in the 'LOADING 99%' phase of my nursing career! One of the biggest game-changers for me has been creating a nursing vision board. Seriously, don't underestimate the power of visualizing your success! I've been gathering images and quotes that truly speak to my aspirations. On mine, you'll find everything from a cute pediatric nurse collage (because working with little ones is a huge goal!) to inspirational images of a pink glittery graduation cap with sayings like 'I have to be SUCCESSFUL - I like EXPENSIVE things!' It might sound materialistic, but it's a powerful reminder of the rewards of all this hard work. I also include personal life goals like 'wife, home owner, great mother' – aligning my nursing career with my overall life vision helps keep me grounded and focused. I even saw a great idea for a 'RICH NURSE GANG' sign that I absolutely have to add! When I'm hitting the books, usually with my trusty online nursing class laptop open, I often find myself needing a quick pick-me-up. That's where positive short nursing quotes come in handy. I've got a whole folder saved on my phone for those moments when I need a boost. And let's be real, sometimes you just need a laugh. Funny nursing student memes are my secret weapon for de-stressing! They remind me that we're all in this together and that a little humor goes a long way in managing the intense pressure of nursing school. Another thing that keeps me going? Surrounding myself with the right aesthetic. Setting my doctor aesthetic girl wallpaper on my phone or laptop, or even just having a cute pink nurse uniform keychain, helps to constantly remind me of why I started this journey. It's those little visual cues that maintain the excitement and keep the dream alive. I remember seeing a social media post that said, 'IDC how hard Nursing school gets!!! I'm going to have that RN by my name!!' and that energy really resonated with me. It’s all about maintaining that 'KEEP GOING' mindset, even when you're battling sickness or a tough exam. So, if you're feeling overwhelmed, remember you're not alone. We all face hurdles. But by actively visualizing our success, seeking out positive affirmations, and even indulging in a bit of humor, we can push through. My ATI teas book is getting a serious workout, and I'm determined to earn that RN. What are your favorite ways to stay motivated? Let's chat!
