Most burns on professionals come from cleaning wax pots. Professional wax pot temperatures can go as high as 113°F to 248°F. Water boils at 212°F. That’s hot for thick liquid. One of my friends actually had to get cadaver skin after a terrible burn! I in fact have had some pretty nasty burns myself. The worst part is you have to let the wax fully harden before you peel it off or you could spread the burn, because hot wax does NOT wipe off like water it just spreads.
That’s like sticking your finger in boiling water for 30 long seconds!
Cleaning your wax pot is important, just proceed with caution.
