2025 TBR…🌸

As I embark on my 2025 reading journey, I've chosen to focus on literature that centers around women's experiences and perspectives. This year, I aim to read 24 books for an intentional reading experience, a stark contrast to my 63 reads in 2024. 'Breasts and Eggs' by Mieko Kawakami is a remarkable work showcasing contemporary womanhood in Japan through the stories of three women. This novel captures the complexities of identity, motherhood, and societal expectations, making it a compelling addition to any reading list. Similarly, 'Housemates' offers an LGBTQ perspective, following two friends on a road trip across America. This journey explores their relationship while touching upon themes of love, friendship, and self-discovery. Both selections not only contribute to my understanding of diverse narratives but also align with the current discourse around women's literature. The importance of amplifying these voices in literature cannot be overstated, as they enrich our understanding of humanity and promote inclusivity in storytelling.
