Any tips for a new hamster owner?! 🐹❤️

I’ve recently just got her so I will be getting a bigger cage, I’ve also been informed colorful bedding isn’t good for her so I’ll be changing that shortly as well! I didn’t know all these things and I don’t have all the money so your girl is trying! 😅 #AskLemon8 #hamster #newpet

you need a larger cage immediately at least 40 x 20 inches and a lot deeper bedding at least 10 inches of bedding they love to burrow and it shouldn't be dyed bedding. It should just be regular paper non-dyed bedding with low dust. They need a sand bath make sure it's like reptile sand NOT dust. Get at least a 12 inch wheel and don't use hamster balls just get a playpen, make sure you have lots of enrichment and lots of hides as well as overhead clutter, and try getting a multichamber hideout. You can find Grapevine branches and separate substrates for them to dig in on Amazon.
