Rating Viral Keychains So You Don’t Waste $30 💸🚗

🎓 Generic Lanyards — 5/10

When I first got my car, I just used whatever lanyards I had from school events (usually these Nike ones).

✔ Convenient detachable clip

✔ Easy to find in a bag

BUT…

❌ I lost my keys constantly

❌ The clip ALWAYS broke after a few months

Overall: cheap and convenient, but not reliable.

💎 VS Wristlet Strap Keychain — 5.5/10

Super cute, don’t get me wrong.

But for $25? I expected better quality.

❌ The clasp bent and created a gap

❌ My keys literally fell off

❌ Crystals started falling off too

I live in Texas so the heat might not help, but still… not worth the price.

🖤 Lululemon “Never Lost” Keychain — 8/10

This one is actually really good.

✔ Perfect size

✔ Easy to find in your bag

✔ Comfortable wrist strap

My only issue:

❌ Light colors get dirty REALLY fast

❌ Hard to clean and make look new again

If you get one, I’d recommend black or darker colors.

⭐ Aritzia “Always Found” Keychain — 9/10

My current keychain and my favorite so far.

✔ Very similar to the Lululemon one

✔ Better clasp (in my opinion)

✔ More color options

This one just feels higher quality overall.

⭐️My Ratings⭐️

1️⃣ Aritzia — best overall

2️⃣ Lululemon — great but gets dirty

3️⃣ VS wristlet — cute but not durable

4️⃣ Generic lanyards — convenient but unreliable

What keychain do you use? I’m always looking for new ones to try.

That's why wristlet keychains became such a game-changer for me! They're not just a cute accessory; they're genuinely practical. Being able to slip my keys onto my wrist means my hands are free for groceries, holding my coffee, or scrolling on my phone. It's truly a small convenience that makes a big difference in my daily juggle. But like I mentioned, not all keychains are created equal, and I've certainly wasted money on ones that looked good but didn't last. After trying so many different ones, I've learned a few things about spotting a truly good wristlet keychain versus one that's just going to let you down. First off, material matters! Those generic Nike lanyards from school events might be cheap, but as I found, their clips often break way too fast. For a wristlet, I always check the clasp. Is it sturdy? Does it feel like it can withstand daily tugs and pulls? My experience with the VS wristlet showed me that even 'cute' designs can have a flimsy clasp that bends and causes essential keys to literally fall off. You definitely don't want to lose your car key fob or house key because of a cheap clasp! Look for metal that feels solid, not easily deformable. Another huge factor is durability. It's not just about the clasp; it's about the entire construction. For instance, my Lululemon 'Never Lost' keychain is fantastic, but those lighter colors? They get dirty so easily, especially if you're like me and just toss your keys into your bag or onto various surfaces. It's a real struggle to keep them looking new, and honestly, who has time to constantly clean their keychain? That's why I'd echo my earlier advice: if you're going for a fabric wristlet, darker colors like black or a dark grey might save you some headache in the long run. If you do opt for a lighter color or a material that shows dirt, consider how you'll clean it. Spot cleaning with a gentle fabric cleaner can sometimes work wonders, but it's an extra step. Beyond just holding my keys, I love a wristlet that can accommodate a few small charms or accessories. My current Aritzia 'Always Found' keychain, for example, feels robust enough to handle my car key, house key, and maybe a cute charm like an 8-ball or cherry charm without feeling overloaded or like it's about to snap. It's about finding that balance between functionality and personal style. Also, think about the size and feel. Some wristlets can be too bulky, while others might be too thin and feel uncomfortable on your wrist, especially if you have a lot of keys or a heavy car key fob attached. Ultimately, the goal is to avoid that 'wasted keychain' feeling. It's not just about the money, but the frustration of having something break or malfunction when you rely on it daily. I've learned that investing a little more in a quality wristlet up front can save you from buying multiple cheap replacements down the line. Look for brands known for their quality, read reviews (like mine!), and pay attention to those small details like the clasp and material. Your keys are important, and they deserve a reliable home!
