College Fund🌸✨🫶
Hi, my name is Milenis. I just graduated high school and I’ve been accepted into college where I plan to major in Music Education. I want to become a music teacher because of the huge impact my own music teachers have had on me. I’m a first-generation student and unfortunately, I don’t have the financial support I need to make this possible.
This past year has been incredible and full of growth. I had the opportunity to perform for Wyclef Jean through a partnership my school had with Music Will. After hearing us sing, he said we sounded like the next Destiny’s Child, and that moment really stuck with me. It reminded me that I have something special to offer, and I want to use that to give back and help others through music.
But now, I’m facing a serious financial obstacle that’s threatening my ability to go to college this fall. I’m doing everything I can, but I still need help. I started a GoFundMe to raise the money I need to cover the costs. Any amount you can donate would mean so much, and even if you’re not able to give, just sharing the link can go a long way.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for being part of my journey. I truly appreciate the love and support.

Hey everyone, it's Milenis again! I'm still buzzing from graduating and getting accepted into my dream program for Music Education. My passion for music isn't just a hobby; it's a calling that truly blossomed because of the incredible teachers who shaped me. I remember my high school band director, Mr. Davis, who always saw potential in me even when I doubted myself. He'd spend extra time after school, not just teaching notes, but teaching dedication, teamwork, and the joy of creating something beautiful together. It wasn't just about learning an instrument; it was about finding my voice and my purpose through music, giving me a sense of belonging and direction. That passion only grew, leading to some truly unforgettable experiences. One of the highlights was definitely performing for Wyclef Jean. When he told us we sounded like the next Destiny’s Child, I honestly felt like I was floating! It wasn't just a compliment; it was a powerful affirmation that my voice, our voices, had impact. It solidified my belief that I have something special to offer, and that music is the best way for me to pay it forward and inspire others, just like my teachers inspired me. The thought of standing in front of my own students one day, helping them discover their own musical journey, fills me with so much excitement and a sense of responsibility. Being a first-generation college student is a unique path. It means navigating a lot of unknowns, from understanding complex financial aid forms to figuring out campus life, often without a family roadmap. There’s no one to ask about the 'unwritten rules' of college, and every step feels like a new discovery. While it's incredibly empowering to pave this way, it also comes with its challenges, especially financially. That's why this GoFundMe is so crucial. The $4,525 goal you might have seen in my graduation cap photo isn't just a number; it's what I need to cover essential costs for my first semester – things like textbooks, basic art and music supplies for my theory courses, and a portion of my tuition that isn't covered by scholarships. It’s about bridging that gap so I can fully immerse myself in my studies without the constant stress of how I'll afford the next step. Every single donation, no matter how small, brings me closer to that goal. Your contribution isn't just financial aid; it's an investment in a future music educator who dreams of making a positive impact on young lives. But even if you're not able to contribute financially, simply sharing my story and the GoFundMe link with your network makes a monumental difference. Your support means the world to me, and it's a testament to the power of community in helping dreams come true. Thank you for being a part of this journey and helping me achieve my music education dream and, eventually, inspire the next generation!
