DIY Coffee scrub for Glowing Skin ☕️🤎

POV: you’re out of scrub, time to raid the kitchen ☕️ 🥥

Once in a blue moon I whip up this homemade coffee scrub and honestly..? My skin always thanks me after 🤌🏽✨

What you need:

• coffee grounds (best when used/ fine grinds work best)

• coconut oil (you can substitute with grapeseed oil OR Aloe Vera gel)

• mix until turns into paste

The benefits ✦ Gentle physical exfoliation which removes dead skin cells. An antioxidant boost; the coffee has anti inflammatory properties (yess this is what we love). Natural moisturizer; the oil hydrates you while you scrub. Unclog pores!! Perfect for forehead and problem areas (for me it’s my sideburns and forehead)

You follow up astringent (I used witch hazel) and face cream

Now, I don’t do this often, just when I’m out of makeup remover or out of store bought scrub. But homemade > store bought, always! You know exactly what’s touching your skin 🤎

My skin type: combination oily + dry

... Read moreUsing a homemade coffee scrub like this one can be a real game-changer for your skincare routine, especially if you prefer natural ingredients and dislike harsh chemicals. Coffee grounds provide gentle exfoliation by removing dead skin cells, which helps reveal smoother and brighter skin underneath. In addition, coffee is rich in antioxidants and has anti-inflammatory properties. This can help reduce redness and puffiness, giving your face a more even tone and a healthy glow. When combined with coconut oil, which deeply moisturizes and nourishes, the scrub helps maintain skin hydration while preventing dryness, making it ideal for combination skin types. One thing I've found helpful is customizing the scrub according to your skin’s sensitivity. If your skin is prone to irritation, using fine coffee grounds instead of coarse ones makes the exfoliation gentler. You can also replace coconut oil with aloe vera gel or grapeseed oil for lighter moisture, depending on your skin’s needs. After exfoliating, using an astringent like witch hazel is a smart step. It helps tighten pores and remove any residual oil or impurities, boosting the scrub’s effectiveness. Follow up with your favorite moisturizer to lock in hydration. I usually make this scrub when I’m out of commercial scrubs or want a quick, natural fix. It’s economical and eco-friendly since you’re repurposing used coffee grounds that might otherwise be tossed. Plus, knowing exactly what’s in the product you apply to your skin adds peace of mind. Overall, this scrub is a simple yet effective addition to your skincare routine. It’s great for treating problem areas prone to clogged pores, like the forehead and sideburns, and helps leave your skin looking refreshed and glowing naturally. Give it a try and see how your skin responds to this all-natural, homemade treatment!
