The flesh was sweatin!
We all yearn for a 'lindo feliz martes' – a beautiful, happy Tuesday. But let's be honest, life often throws curveballs, making those ideal days feel out of reach. There are mornings when I wake up, and the last thing I feel is 'lindo' or 'feliz.' Sometimes, it feels like an internal battle, a constant wrestling with old habits, negative thoughts, or selfish desires. This is what I refer to as 'the flesh was sweatin!' This isn't just about physical exertion, but the intense internal struggle against our lower nature. For me, the moment we believe in Jesus, everything changes, yet the struggle doesn't magically disappear. Instead, we gain an incredible helper: the Holy Spirit. Before, I felt powerless against my own weaknesses. Now, I understand that while the 'flesh' still vies for control, the Spirit within me is far more powerful. It’s a daily decision to surrender to that power, to choose faith over fear, and grace over guilt. How does this play out in making an ordinary Tuesday 'lindo' and 'feliz'? It starts with intentionality. Each morning, I try to pause and connect with the Holy Spirit, asking for guidance and strength for the day ahead. This simple act helps reorient my perspective. When challenges arise, instead of reacting purely from my 'flesh'—with impatience or frustration—I remember to breathe, pray, and ask for spiritual wisdom. It's about letting the Spirit guide my words and actions. Practically, this means finding small moments to nourish my spirit. Reading a verse from the Bible, listening to worship music, or even just taking a few minutes of quiet reflection. These aren't grand gestures, but consistent deposits into my spiritual well-being. It’s a conscious effort to not let the demands of the day overshadow the peace that comes from living in alignment with my faith. Embracing vulnerability has also been key. Sharing my struggles with trusted friends helps me realize I'm not alone, and their support strengthens my resolve to overcome the 'flesh.' Ultimately, a 'lindo feliz martes' isn't about everything being perfect, but about finding joy and beauty amidst imperfection. It's understanding that even when the 'flesh' is making noise, the Holy Spirit is there, offering peace, strength, and a path to transformation. It’s a journey of continuous faith, allowing the Spirit to renew my mind and heart, turning everyday challenges into opportunities for growth and gratitude. This is how I strive for my beautiful, happy Tuesdays, deeply rooted in my Christian walk.
