A lot of people get caught up chasing signs, symbols, secret meanings, and saying the same prayer 47 times like they're trying to unlock a cheat code in a video game. 😂
But Jesus already addressed that.
Matthew 6:7 says not to use vain repetitions in prayer. In other words, don't think God is sitting in Heaven saying, "Well, he only asked 99 times... one more and I'll answer."
God isn't a customer service hotline where you keep pressing the same button until somebody picks up. 🤣
The issue was never repetition.
The issue is empty repetition.
There's a difference between praying from faith and just putting your mouth on autopilot.
Jesus prayed about the same situation multiple times in Gethsemane. The persistent widow kept asking. Scripture encourages persistence.
So praying about the same problem every day isn't wrong.
Praying without faith, relationship, sincerity, or obedience? That's a different story.
Now let's talk about symbols.
God uses symbols throughout the Bible:
🌈 Rainbow = Covenant
🕊️ Dove = Holy Spirit
🐑 Lamb = Jesus the sacrifice
💧 Water = Cleansing and life
🫒 Oil = Anointing
💡 Light = Truth and guidance
🍞 Bread = God's provision
Symbols are like spiritual road signs. They point you toward God, but they're not God.
The cross reminds us of Christ, but the power isn't in the necklace.
The oil represents the Holy Spirit, but the power isn't in the bottle.
Too many people have faith in the symbol while ignoring the One the symbol is pointing to.
Simple rule:
👉 Vain repetition = trusting in repeated words instead of God.
👉 Biblical symbols = reminders that point you toward God.
One is empty religion.
The other is divine instruction.
Don't get so focused on counting prayers, chasing signs, or analyzing every coincidence that you miss the relationship.
God isn't looking for perfect repetition.
He's looking for a sincere heart. 💯🙏🏾✝️
